John Tortell became director of USA Risk Group - Malta, Ltd. in 2010 and General Manager in 2019. He has been involved in the captive insurance industry in Malta since its entry into the European Union, being one of the first captive managers to be licensed. This has given him extensive experience in setting up insurance companies and insurance cells, including the first ILS platform for private collateralized reinsurance and other ILS transactions organized as a securitization cell company in Malta.
