Agenda - Cayman Captive Forum 2025

Meetings:

Client Board Meetings

Many captive Boards of Directors make the most of their time being in their domicile by holding a board meeting during the week of the Forum. It’s always best to try to arrange this well in advance as Insurance Managers often get booked up during this week.

Regulator Meetings

Representatives of the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority (“CIMA”) not only present regulatory updates during the Forum, but they are also onsite at the Ritz to meet with directors. Much like the Insurance Managers, CIMA also get booked up, so again, it’s worth securing your spot early to get a preferred day and time. These meetings are a good opportunity to provide CIMA with an update on activities at the Parent level that may impact the insurance company.

Service Provider/Reinsurer Meetings

All types of service providers attend the Forum, both Cayman and non-Cayman based. Looking at this year’s attendee list, there are no shortage of actuaries, attorneys, auditors, investment advisors, and insurance brokers. Representatives from many of the reinsurance companies will also be in attendance this year. Beazley, CNA, Chubb, Ironshore, Hannover Re to name a few. A good way to maximise your time at the Forum is to arrange meetings with the industry professionals who are engaged on your program, or who you want to be on your program. The attendee list can be found here: Attendees - Cayman Captive Forum 2025.

Networking:

Golf and Pickleball Tournaments

A fun way to connect with fellow attendees before the conference gets underway, is to sign up for the Golf or Pickleball Tournament. Don't miss out on the opportunity to network with industry leaders and enjoy a day of friendly competition in paradise.

Tuesday and Wednesday Evening Receptions

After the last session of the day ends, attendees can relax at the evening receptions. These provide a great setting to reflect on and discuss emerging challenges with industry peers.

Thursday Closing Reception – Beach BBQ

The Cayman Captive Forum Closing Reception is one of the signature social events at the end of the conference. It takes place on Seven Mile Beach. The beach setting and fireworks display is one of the memorable features attendees look forward to. It offers a relaxed environment for delegates, speakers, and exhibitors to mingle outside the formal sessions and network in a more casual beach setting.

Insurance Manager Party

Most Insurance Managers host a party for their clients on the Wednesday evening following the reception at the Ritz. This is a great way to spend time with your insurance manager and their other clients in a more relaxed setting. The USA Risk Group party is well known for its different themed parties such as Tailgate, Circus, Pirates and Speakeasy to name just a few.

Downtime:

If you have added a day or two before or after the conference to relax, then there is no better way to spend this than on the iconic Seven Mile Beach. The Ritz-Carlton Grand Cayman offers prime beachfront access to powdery white sand and turquoise waters. Not to mention sunset views from oceanfront rooms and beach loungers. The resort also features two outdoor pools, a children’s water park, and a full-service spa with beachfront treatments. For the more adventurous guests, non-motorized water sports like paddleboarding, kayaking, and snorkelling are available and included with the resort fee.

Dining:

On-Site Restaurants

There are no shortage of options for dining at the Ritz, whether it be at the relaxed beachside spot, Saint June, Seven’s steakhouse, the Taikun sushi restaurant, Andiamo’s Italian comfort food or the Forbes Five-Star restaurant, Blue by Eric Ripert, which is a seafood lover’s dream with tasting menus and wine pairings that are nothing short of exquisite.

Time to Depart:

If you are planning to depart on the Friday, being the most popular day to depart, it’s worth allowing some extra travel time to get to the airport as the taxis can be busy with the volume of people needing transport.

Why This Matters for You

Attending the Cayman Captive Forum isn't just about the sessions—it’s a combination of insightful learning, relationship-building, and memorable island experiences. Use your downtime smartly by soaking in island culture with a dip in the warm, turquoise sea or with an early morning leisurely stroll on the beach. These are the moments that elevate your trip from conference to connection.
